Campfire fun

We decided to go camping and fishing last weekend. It rained the entire time. So needless to say we didn't hit the lake. We still had fun hanging out by the fire!

Everyone kept telling me the flash was so bright. So I turned the camera on myself to see. It was pretty bright.

We thought taking the kids golfing would be a fun idea. Tylor does not know the meaning of be quite, so we wont be taking her along again anytime soon. Zak is quite the little golfer. He got new clubs so we gave the old ones to Rien.

This is so his dad. Like father like son.

Mike helping Rien. We gave Rien Zaks old clubs. It probably would have worked great other than she is a lefty. So we are now on the hunt for clubs for her.

Rien gets Stitches

Please someone feel bad for Rien! We went to Sakura to eat. The kids were playing on the bench's outside. Rien slipped and hit her forehead and side of her nose. Her forehead does not look bad in these pics, but she was bleeding like crazy. We took her to Mikes brothers house to get stitches. She was set on just putting a band aid on. Erik said it was pretty deep and unless she wanted a great scar she needed to get stitched up. We came up with a plan to tell her we were just cleaning it. We put a paper towel over her face and cut a small hole in it. Ty was there with us and saw Erik walk in with the scissors and told Ri. So all hell broke loose. I had to convince Ri to let us do two stitches, which took about 30 minutes. We numbed her with ice and then shot her up with numbing stuff. It was a nasty goose egg. Before she would lay down she kept telling the guys she needed to tell me one more thing, just to take up time. Finally at the very end she said " mommy am I going to be okay?" I replied "Yes Ri you'll be fine, I promise." She then said "Okay mommy I love you". So after all this and a bribe to get a "pedicure in the water" as she calls it. We were ready to get to work. She kept them in for a week. Her forehead looks amazing. Thanks Erik!

The Big Apple

So here's the girls trip! We went to New York! We had such a great time shopping, going to plays (4 to be exact), two Yankees games and eating at some great restaurants. We stayed at the Hyatt right next to Grand Central Station. So there is a pic on the slide show that is the Chrysler Building. My dad told all of us that it was the Empire State Building. Aubrey and I were walking down the street one night taking pictures of it. My mom and Maddie went back to the hotel and the rest of us went to take a look. We walked inside and a security guy told us the building was closed, we were totally confused, why would it be closed so early. After my dad talk to them for a minute they informed us we were at the wrong place. So we walked a few blocks to the Empire State Building. I was also very sad we were unable to see ground zero, two months ago they enclosed the whole thing for construction. We were able to see two baseball games. When we were in Boston this year we saw the Red Sock play the Yankees @ Fenway, so now it was time to see them play in New York since this is there last series at the Yankee stadium. We went to see Hairspray, Wicked, Lion King and Mary Poppins. They were all wonderful. And of course we did a lot of shopping and walking. Thanks again for a great trip mom and dad we all loved it!

Utah Lake with the Picketts

Mikes sister, Kim, and her family came down to hang out for a weekend. We took the boat out and help them all attempt to surf. They did so good and they all enjoyed it. Zak also got up by himself on his wake board. He did a great job. I know people are going to want to kill me for posting these, but there cute!

Alaska Fishing Trip

All the guys went on a fishing trip to Alaska in July, and yes all the girls will get their turn. Everyone was excited to go except Hank(check out aubs blog). This really isn't up his alley. But he loved it and can't wait to go back. They stayed at a lodge and had all their meals prepared for them. They loved it. Thanks again Big Daddy!
